So many recipes, so little time!

May Lattanzio Img

Wildcrafting is neither art nor science. It's both! There is an art to walking through an open field or a secluded forest, harvesting a plant, and not leaving one sign that a person was there. There is also a science to proper identification, harvesting, and storing your foraged plants. You do not want to be mistaken in your identification of a plant. That could kill not only you but anyone else that partakes of that plant.

There are both art and science involved in knowing when to harvest a plant and when to leave it, so it will multiply and offer even more to our future generations. There has been a steadily growing interest in living a self sufficient life by foraging foods we used to irradicate with chemicals. While this is wonderful, this means there are more people out there looking for the same plants you are. We all need to be diligent that we do not over-harvest and cause the extinction of varied species of wild plants in your area.

Below, you will find articles on information regarding harvesting and storing (and more), plus observations and stories.
